| ( so sexy )Goddamn it Nintendo. I wanted a black Wii from the start. And now I'll never get one because Nintendo hardware will outlast nuclear apocalypses. | |

| Work's been pretty easy-going lately, which means that I've had time to revisit my own projects (personal laptop at work = best thing evar). Namely, I finally have the time I never could spare to compile all the notes I needed for the HP tarot. This nourished some thoughts into old obsessions, ( so, useless braindump time! )I hope to be posting some thumbnail/concept sketches before too long. Would be nice to get some discussion on those, but that might be too much to hope for. XP | |

| Holy crap. After my last ramble about a crappy game game crappily featuring Batman, here's a Batman game that already looks amazing: Arkham Asylum. I'll let the article do the talking, but just look at these screens. Especially the first two had me from the word go. I'd say what I like the best so far is that none of the character models (so far) look lazy, even the NPC guards and the cannon fodder juggalos clown thugs. Usually the decreasing importance of a game character means their face looks increasingly inhuman (and not in a monster/creature way). Or maybe I've just seen too many Activision games. (I've been on a bit of a Batman kick because have been working through all the seasons of The Animated Series which is the best cartoon ever. Ever. Try and prove me wrong. Animaniacs excepted) Edit: Holy $^@&, Killer Croc. Looks awesome, although... that might be a bit far out there, isn't he supposed to be a dude? | |

| You probably haven't heard of the Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe game. That's a silly idea, but hey, I like DC superheroes, I have nostalgia for Mortal Kombat, and they've got some decent ideas like making the gameplay cinematic at times. It's too bad the concept is so shoddily done in a number of ways including animation, character design, and more! So I went to their official website to check out the high-res concept art/renders and holy crap, I'm lollin' here. ( Watch me nitpick the hell out of CG and other nerdery: )The moral of the story: It's fine for you to take shortcuts on your CG; everybody does it all the time. But if you're going to release full-resolution images, then they better not show the flaws! P.S. And while we're on the subject, you should check out these compilations of American cartoons based on popular fighting games, which I didn't even know existed. I'm sure that's for the better because at that age I would have gladly watched them. At first. Street Fighter stupidity (1/2)Street Fighter stupidity (2/2)Mortal Kombat stupidity | |

| So Nintendo just announced an advanced motion sensing geegaw that can calculate (better) one-to-one Wiimote motion. You know what that means? SWORD FIGHTING please for Zelda please for Zelda please for ZeldaNintendo conference is tomorrow morning guys. BRACE FOR IMPACT | |

| +.12 or something BMI, because I had Burger King right beforehand. (We had to use those scratch-off stickers offering us free shakes!) But somehow during the workout I lost .02 BMI which was enough to make the game freak out about my weight having changed a little. Unlocked the advanced aerobic stepping today, and it's tough ^^;; At least, when you have to go sideways and rapidly switch orientation. I'm sure I'll get used to it tomorrow though since it's always the same routine (I think). We also got Rock Band and I spent way too much time on that, considering I have homework for tomorrow. Which is why I'm up writing this now. P.S. This guy is awesome, he makes "realistic" paintings out of children's art. | |

| -.28 BMI, but that's because I didn't eat much before the weigh-in. Still not even back at baseline... I was a little bit stiff all over today, especially my feet because they get the most strain trying to keep balance when I do anything standing on one leg. (No wonder I wasn't great at figure skating.) But I'm not particularly sore or anything. My balance (or at least posture) is quite a bit better already. I'm getting top high scores on nearly every yoga exercise, even on the ones where I thought I didn't do well. Hey ctrl_a, remember how we I was hopeless at running in PE? Today I jogged for 4, and then 10 minutes straight. Granted, jogging in place is much easier than actually running over terrain. But it also helps to have cute little distractions like "Crap, I just got passed by Clinton. And Hard Gay." Gotta go to class soon, so gotta cut today's exercise short. It's still 40 minutes but I would have tried out more activities if I had more time. Also push ups and sit ups. | |

| On retrospect, it's pretty funny that I just walked into a (fairly popular) GameStop in the middle of the day and they had about a dozen Wii Fit boxes displayed on their shelves. Towards the end of my transaction suddenly 3 or 4 housewives materialized behind me and started talking about "that's what I'm here for too" and how it was sold out everywhere else they looked.
+.48 BMI (still barely under overweight!), but that's because I had eaten shortly before starting the game. Went for longer today because I unlocked more activities to try out.
Sux: I wish the board has an A button so I don't have to keep picking up and putting down the Wiimote.
Doesn't sux: The trainer actually points out your weaknesses so it's not just working in front of an exercise tape. Yes ma'am, my hips did indeed drop while push-upping, and I can't imagine what arcane magic that balance board just used to figure it out.
Awesome: While Wii-jogging, I saw the Joker chasing a puppy. Also Obama cheered for me. <3

| Forget Zbrush, this is where it's at. | |
|
| I won't tell you the numbers, but I've been letting myself go lately. Nintendo says my BMI came in just below "overweight", so I'm aiming for 15 less pounds in 3 months. Let's see how quickly something starts to happen on 30 minutes a day. Lesson one: I am an even more massive failure at push-ups than I ever have been before. Lesson two: However, jogging with Reggie and Iron Man (and puppies) is fanturbulous. Maybe I should make a Putin mii... | |

| It's go time, bitches.

Edit: Hit me up on AIM if you see me. Unless I'm in class.

| Patapon is an awesome game, look up some videos if you don't know it. What I find amusing though is how many people have trouble with catching the right rhythm, even if they play other music games. It shouldn't be that complicated? I attribute my success to either Rhythm Tengoku (a game for building your rhythm sense from the makers of Wario Ware. It is fabulous) or taiko classes. Must've taught me how the Japanese like their rhythm 8-] By the way ctrl_a or superpan, we just got DDR Supernova2. Is it decent? I wish I didn't have to grind to unlock all the songs ._. Trying to get my work done before the end of Saturday... - Tags:gaming

| ...ek.Welp, time for a revamped cosplay. Brawl got re-delayed, which is okay, but now it's coming out on 10th (more-or-less finals) week of this term. I promise I'll post the entry about why I've been dead within a week. | |

| Holy crap, the cutscenes for SSBB adventure mode are beyond AMAZING. I am crying on the inside from awesome ;_; ( Edit: So going to make boyfriend play the character I don't pick) Speaking of awesome, Okami is confirmed for the Wii. I will be buying the $^&@ out of that game. Again. (Anyone want my PS2 version? ctrl_a, superpan? :P) Edit: Also speaking of awesome, the Street Fighter IV trailer is a remarkable work of art. Too bad the game is highly unlikely to look anything like that. But if it does, it'd definitely be something I'd look into despite being no good at any fighting game without the words "Smash" and "Bros" in the title. | |

| Smash Bros. Brawl delayed to February 10th. Sad, but it will be SO WORTH IT. loobywibble, that better give you enough time to get a Wii and get it online ;P ;P ;P Edit: Will also give me time to actually play Mario Galaxy :x | |
